BROOKES BACKGROUND
How it started
Brooke grew up in a working class community in Teams, Gateshead in an area struck with poverty in a family that collected benefits. She first started her training at the Sage Academy in Byker learning to sing, dance and act. After training in multiple theatre schools around the North East including the Newcastle School of Dance, Dance City as well as Live Theatre she focused on making a career for herself within the theatre industry. She studied at Newcastle College for 4 years on the Musical Theatre BTEC then on the Foundation degree. Successfully she gained places in variety of drama schools within London before accepting her place at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts to finish her BA and obtaining a top up degree.

Due to the pandemic and many personal obstacles in her way, Brooke set her sites on settling down in her home town Newcastle to focus on developing the skill set of becoming a practitioner. Currently studying her Masters at Northumbria University in Theatre and Performance as well as teaching on the side in varieties of theatre schools, Brooke sets her sites on creating work that creates awareness, familiarity and repeatability to people just like her.
